Slowly the year 2011 is coming to an end. Before us lie the hectic December days with the usual last minute deadlines leading up to the Christmas and New Year's break, interrupted by Christmas Parties, Christmas punch ("Glühwein") and the anticipation of upcoming quieter days.

An important event is behind the Vodafone Test & Innovation Centre - the traditional Innovation Day. In this issue of our Newsletter, we wish to share some of the highlights of this event as well as give insight to further customer projects.

	The Innovation Day 2011 From 8th to10th of November we had the pleasure to welcome numerous visitors from the telecommunications industry to the Vodafone Test & Innovation Center: customers, project partners, representatives from the international Vodafone Group as well as journalists. The audience has gathered now for the 7th year in the Völklinger Strasse 1 in Dusseldorf. Highlights of this event included, among others, the Award Ceremony of this year's winners of the "Vodafone Enterprise Innovation Awards" as well as many stands at the accompanying exhibition.
	Tellabs tests its Evolved Packet Core against an LTE test environment in the Vodafone Test & Innovation Center The US network supplier Tellabs is one of the leading providers in the area of Mobile Internet; recently launched a complete 3G/4G packet core portfolio of products. As a result of this, Tellabs performed an interoperability test of its LTE-EPC (Evolved Packet Core) SmartCore ® 9100 products at the Vodafone Test & Innovation Center in Dusseldorf.
	VoLTE Interoperability Tests by the MultiService Forum in the Test & Innovation Center For the first time in the Test & Innovation Center, a "Multi-vendor" interoperability test for "Voice over Long Term Evolution" (VoLTE), including 19 network providers and Terminal manufacturers, was successfully performed in September 2011. The tests were performed by the MultiService Forum (MSF) with support from the GSM Association (GSMA) in the Vodafone Test & Innovation Center in Dusseldorf as well as in the China Mobile Research Institute Laboratory in Beijing. As a result of its multifaceted infrastructure, this was the second time that the Vodafone Test & Innovation Center has hosted an Interoperability Event for the MultiService Forum. All parties involved confirmed that the multi-vendor test event was again a great success in this year.
	Next important date: The Test & Innovation Center as part of the Global M2M at the Mobile World Congress 2012 After the successful completion of this year's 7th Innovation Days, we focus our view towards the next major event in our diaries: the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which is one of the most important events in the year for the entire Mobile Communications industry. It will take place from 27 February to 1 March 2012 in Barcelona and is open to registered visitors from the mobile communication branch. The Test & Innovation Center will be represented in 2012 by the Vodafone global M2M colleagues from Vodafone Group Enterprise (VGE) who will be presenting various solutions in the area of Machine-to-Machine communications. 	Die Innovation Days 2011 Vom 8. bis 10. November durfte das Test & Innovation Center von Vodafone wieder zahlreiche Besucher aus der Telekommunikations-Branche begrüßen: Kunden, Projektpartner, Vertreter der internationalen Vodafone-Gruppe sowie Fachjournalisten. Schon zum siebten Mal versammelte sich dieses Fachpublikum in der Völklinger Straße 1 in Düsseldorf. Highlights der Veranstaltung waren unter anderem die Preisverleihung an die diesjährigen Gewinner des "Vodafone Enterprise Innovation Awards" sowie viele Exponate auf der begleitenden Fach-Ausstellung.
	Tellabs testet seinen Evolved Packet Core gegen LTE-Testumgebung im Test & Innovation Center Der US-Netzausrüster Tellabs ist einer der führenden Anbieter im Bereich Mobiles Internet und konzentriert sich derzeit stark auf rein paketorientierte Vermittlungssysteme. Im Düsseldorfer Test & Innovation Center von Vodafone führte Tellabs einen Interoperabilitätstest seines SmartCore ® 9100 LTE-EPC (Evolved Packet Core) gegen eine von Nokia Siemens Networks bereitgestellte LTE-Testumgebung durch. Außerdem wurde die Integration mit einem Abrechnungs-System von Orga Systems überprüft.
	VoLTE-Interoperabilitätstest beim MultiService Forum im Test & Innovation Center Mit Beteiligung von 19 Netzwerkausrüstern und Endgeräteherstellern wurde im September 2011 ein erstmaliger "Multivendor"-Interoperabilitätstest für "Voice over Long Term Evolution" (VoLTE) im Test & Innovation Center erfolgreich abgeschlossen. Der Test wurde vom MultiService Forum (MSF) mit Unterstützung der GSM Association (GSMA) im Vodafone Test & Innovation Center in Düsseldorf und im China Mobile Research Institute Laboratory in Peking durchgeführt. Aufgrund seiner vielfältigen vorhandenen Infrastruktur übernahm das Vodafone Test & Innovation Center bereits zum zweiten Mal die Rolle des Ausrichters einer Veranstaltung für das MultiService Forum. 	Der nächste wichtige Termin: Test & Innovation Center Teil des globalen M2M Business auf dem Mobile World Congress 2012 Nach erfolgreichen Machine-to-Machine (M2M) Projekten die wir gemeinsam mit dem globalen M2M Team der Vodafone Global Enterprise (VGE) durchgeführt haben, richtet sich unser Blick auf den Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Dieser Kongress hat sich in den vergangenen Jahren zu einem der wichtigsten Termine des Jahres für die gesamte Mobilfunk-Branche entwickelt. Er wird vom 27. Februar bis 1. März 2012 in Barcelona stattfinden und steht nur für registrierte Fachbesucher offen. Das Test & Innovation Center wird 2012 im Rahmen des M2M Business durch die M2M-Kollegen von VGE repräsentiert, die Ihnen zu Fragen rund um die Test- und Zertifizierung im Bereich der M2M Module und Terminals zur Verfügung (Hardware Zertifizierungen, Entwicklungsunterstützung) stehen.
