Successful Completion of the Research Project "Cooperative Cars eXtended" (CoCarX)

Ericsson GmbH, Ford Research Center and the Federal Office for Road Traffic (BASt) were also involved in this project, in addition to Vodafone. An important step towards the future of cooperative vehicle applications and telematics applications was jointly taken. In particular the new LTE technology as used in the vehicles, allows fast and intelligent networking of the cars. On May 25, 2011, the results were presented to an audience of 100 invited visitors.

Vodafone Test & Innovation Center Offers Automated Handset and App Tests

A robot that simulates operating procedures of mobile phones, a camera that registers display messages and evaluates them via image or text recognition. And all this can be operated remotely via the Internet.  These are not ideas for application tests in the future. No - the components and solutions mentioned above are already available to you in Vodafone's Test & Innovation Center today, in order to put your application through its paces.

Juniper Tests the MobileNext TM Open Mobile Core Solution in Vodafone's Test & Innovation Center

Juniper Networks has just recently completed interworking testing of their MobileNext solution at the Vodafone Test & Innovation Center in Düsseldorf, Germany.  MobileNext consists of the MobileNext Broadband Gateway which provides the GGSN plus P-GW functions and the MobileNext Control Gateway which contains the SGSN plus MME functions. Begeisterte Gäste bei der Abschlussveranstaltung des Forschungsprojekts "Cooperative Cars eXtended" (CoCarX)

An diesem Projekt waren neben Vodafone auch Ericsson, das Ford Forschungszentrum und das Bundesamt für Straßenwesen (BASt) beteiligt. Gemeinsam wurde ein wichtiger Schritt in die Zukunft kooperativer Fahrzeuganwendungen und Telematik-Applikationen erreicht. Dabei kam speziell die neue LTE Technologie in den Fahrzeugen zum Einsatz, die eine schnelle und intelligente Vernetzung der Fahrzeuge erlaubt. Die Ergebnisse wurden am 25.05.2011 einem Publikum von 100 geladenen Besuchern präsentiert.

Die Firma Juniper Networks hat im Vodafone Test & Innovation Centers seine neu entwickelten 2G/3G SGSN (Serving GPRS Support Nodes) und GGSN (Gateway GPRS Support Nodes) gegen Core- und Radio-Netzelemente anderer Hersteller getestet.
